Delicious Raw Brownie

The Dessert I've Been Waiting for...

For those of you who love brownies or have a sweet tooth this recipe is for you! I was never really a big fan of dates until my friend Vishaala got me to try her amazing brownies. Ever since then, I have been hooked. These brownies contain no sugar or no flour and taste AMAZING! This recipe is very simple and is great to snack on or have for dessert.
Ingredients:

2 cups whole walnuts

2 ½ cups Medjool dates, pitted

3/4 cup raw cacao

1 cup raw unsalted almonds, roughly chopped
 (optional)
¼ tsp. sea salt

Directions:

1. Add walnuts into food processor and blend on high until the nuts are finely ground.

2. Add the cacao and salt then pulse to combine.

3. Add the dates one at a time through the feed tube of the food processor while it is running. What you should end up with is a mix that appears rather like cake crumbs, but that when pressed, will easily stick together (add more dates if the mixture does not hold well together).

4. In a large air tight container/pan combine the walnut-cacao mix with the chopped almonds. Press into a container and place in the fridge until ready to serve (it is also easier to cut these when they are very cold).
5. Sprinkle chopped almonds on the top (optional).

Tip: If you don't have almonds, that's fine the brownies will still taste good and you can use pecans as well.
